Natan Sharanksy, whose fight for freedom in Soviet Russia and subsequent influence on Israeli society and politics makes him one of the most prominent figures in modern Jewish history, will be speaking at Westchester Fairfield Hebrew Academy on December 1.
Sharansky will present a thoughtful perspective on the state of America and the Jewish community during these tumultuous times. He brings unique insight, molded by his experience imprisoned in the Soviet Gulag, his time as a leading politician in Israel and his international role as a spokesman for democracy.
The evening event, which includes cocktails and desserts, has a $500 couvert.
Each year WFHA invites influential Jewish leaders to its Greenwich campus to speak to the greater community. Last year, the school hosted distinguished businessman and philanthropist Michael Steinhardt.
An Evening with Natan Sharansky will take place at 270 Lake Avenue and will begin at 6:45 p.m. For more information, please contact Seth Young at 983-3508 or at
